Andrew Amaya is a national and international award-winning classical guitarist based in Las Vegas. Andrew completed his Bachelor’s degree in Classical Guitar Performance at UNLV, studying with the world-renowned Colombian guitarist Ricardo Cobo. Over the years, Andrew has received prizes from the 2020 Josefina P. Tuason International Guitar Competition, the 2019 Orange County Guitar Circle International Guitar Competition, and the 2019 UNLV Performing Arts Center Classical Guitar Competition.
Andrew has also helped guitar players across the valley get into the Grammy Award-winning Las Vegas Academy of the Arts, and his students have won and placed in multiple Solo and Ensemble Guitar Competitions. His students have gone on to study guitar at some of the best schools in the world, including the Peabody Institute, Manhattan School of Music, University of Southern California, University of Toronto, and University of Glasgow.
